日本語の＜取る＞の複合動詞と英語表現

日本語の＜取る＞の複合動詞と英語表現 についてチェックしてみる。 英語の＜取る＞は to take が代表。take は副詞、前置詞を後につけた熟語が多そう。一方日本語の＜取る＞も慣用表現を含め複合動詞が非常に多い。かなり前のポスト

 複合動詞にするには終止形 (原型) の＜取る＞を連用形の＜取り＞に変えないといけない。

＜あいうえお＞順に並べてみると

取り合う　 to try to take / seize each other, among people
取りあえず　副詞　literally to take and dare not, to do something temporarily anyway
これは難しい。dare ＜敢える＞はあまり使わない。＜敢えXXてする＞dare do, ＜敢えてXXしない＞not dare do, ＜敢え無く＞dare do but failed, dare do with no success  ぐらいだろう。また翻訳調と言えなくもない。

取り上げる  多義語　to take by force, to pick up, to pick out
取りあつかう　literally to take and handle, to handle　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。あつかう。
取り集める　literally to take and collect, to collect　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。集める。

冒頭で

take は副詞、前置詞を後につけた熟語が多そう。

と書いたが、実際調べてみるとさほど多くはない。

to take away　　文字通りでは＜取り去る＞だが、この意味では to take off が使われる。
to take in 　　取り入れる、取り込む　
to take off 　取り離す、取り除く、取り外す、(衣服を) 脱ぐ、(飛行機が) 離陸する。
to take out　　文字通りでは＜取り出す＞だが、ファーストフード店の＜持ち帰り＞
to take over　　引き継ぐ

to take place      これは慣用用法で、意味は＜ｘｘが起 (おこ) る＞（自動詞） 、＜ｘｘ行われる＞（他動詞＜行う＞の受身形）で、英語の方は熟語として自動詞扱いだろう。

一方日本語の＜取る＞の連用形＜取り＞は複合動詞が上のようにやたら多いが、＜取り＞は接頭辞に近いものが少なくない。この＜接頭辞に近いもの＞の説明は難しい。

１） 物理的な動作の＜取る＞の意味が薄れている。

２）＜取る＞の意味が薄れているのに残って使われるのは＜口調＞によるものもある。

３） 微妙だが、＜取り＞に＜何か行動をおこす＞ような意味があるものがある。

取り集める　literally to take and collect, to collect　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。集める。
取り急ぐ　literally to take and make haste, to hurry up ＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。急ぐ。
取り入れる　 to take in, to take and put in
取り行う　literally to take and do ＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い to perform 　行う
取り組む　literally to take and make together, to take in, to work
取り込む　 to take in
取りこわす　 to take and destroy　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。こわす

４）上の英語訳ではわかりにくいが、＜取り＞には社会性がある。会社や団体の中で用いられる＜取りｘｘ＞の複合動詞には社会性があるものが少なくない。

取りあつかう　－　商売用語。＜取る＞は商売、経営に関する用語が多い。商売、経営は空論ではなく実践だ。＜取り扱う＞以外に、取りそろえる、取り交わす（契約、約束）、取り決める、取り消す、取り仕切る、取締 (取り締まり) 役、取りそろえる、取引（＜取り引く＞という動詞からか？＜引き取る＞は意味が違う）、取り寄せる。買い取る、下取る。

取り行う　ー　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近いが、＜取り＞で社会性が加わる。　行う

取り交わす　－　＜互いに取る＞だが＜取り合う＞とは違う。 ＜取り＞は接頭辞に近く、＜取り交わす＞多くは比喩的に用いられる。　約束、契約を＜取り交わす＞。

取り決める　ー　＜取り＞は接頭辞に近いが、＜取り＞で社会性が加わる。　決める

取り仕切る　－ ＜取り＞は接頭辞に近いが、＜取り＞である比較的小さい組織内での社会性が加わる。ここでの＜仕切る＞は統制、制御するの意。　仕切る

取りしまる　ー　＜締 (し) まる＞は自動詞だが、＜取りしまる＞は他動詞。＜取り＞で社会性が加わる。

取り調べる　－　この＜取り＞は接頭辞に近いが、権力をもって＜調べる＞で社会性が強い。　調べる

取りまとめる　－ ＜取り＞は接頭辞に近い。＜まとめる＞は乱れているもの（こと）、雑然としているももの（もと）を、＜ととのえる＞、＜整然とさせる＞ことだ。＜取り＞を前につけると、社会性をおびる。組織を管理（マネジメント）するだ。　まとめる
